How do volunteer firefighters show up and quickly seem to know exactly what to do in an emergency? They practice. Members of Rockaway Township fire companies from White Meadow Lake, Green Pond and Marcella hit the still icy water of Lake Ames on Saturday, March 14, to practice water/ice rescue with a specially-designed raft. They took turns pulling each other to safety using proper techniques.
